West Ham goalkeeper Adrian has declared that the team are going into Sundays final Premier League fixture against league leaders Manchester City looking for a victory – and nothing less. City require just a point to be crowned champions, but face a West Ham side who are hungry to cause a major upset and finish a rather scrappy season off in style.
“We’re going to City only thinking about victory. Although we’re safe, we have pride. We’re professionals and go into this game looking to finish the season with a win.”
The Hammers goalkeeper is under no illusions though, and knows we are in for a very tough encounter against the side that cruised past West Ham in the Capital One Cup this season with a 9-0 aggregate scoreline.
“No doubt it’s going to be a very tough match. But this game is very different to the defeat in the Capital One Cup because City have that pressure of needing a result to win the title.
“And we’re now safe – we want to sign off with a result for our loyal fans and ourselves.”
