Former Arsenal centre back Martin Keown has jumped to the defence of Sam Allardyce by stating that his imminent sacking shows a total lack of loyalty from the clubs owners.
Allardyce guided West Ham to promotion from the Championship in his first season, and has retained our Premier League status in the following two seasons, yet West Ham are set to sack Big Sam as the club feel it’s time for a new man to take the club forward.
”Even though his imminent sacking may not come as a surprise, it shows a disappointing lack of loyalty from the West Ham board. What kind of message does it send to a prospective new manager when you ditch a man who has achieved everything asked of him?”
The club have so far remained tight lipped on the gossip this week, which only adds fuel to the fire. However one must wonder who is ready to step in if Sam goes.. Surely Gold & Sullivan wouldn’t show Allardyce the door without a proven manager ready to step in? According to the bookies Gus Poyet is currently favourite to land the post.
