Manager Sam Allardyce has pretty much confirmed that he is set to leave the club following our final game of the season tomorrow by criticising the clubs ambition.
”I have more ambition than West Ham ever have. I have more ambition than them, or the same ambition as them.
”I have seen it all before and you use your experience to try to achieve that ambition. Can West Ham match my ambition? Eventually, yes. It is whether everyone is patient enough to wait to get there. That is the problem today: a lack of patience across the board.’’
The bizarre and desperate statement is not going to do the Hammers boss any favours heading into a ‘make or break’ board meeting next week. Many see this as a career suicide note, and now it looks more certain than ever that tomorrow’s fixture with Manchester City will be Allardyces last as West Ham manager.
