A deal to bring free agent Joleon Lescott to the club this summer has fallen through due to the players high wage demands.

The England defender had been highly tipped to make a switch to Upton Park, but following several discussions with Lescotts agent West Ham have decided to look elsewhere.

The former Everton player now looks set to sign for newly promoted QPR. Personally I am pleased that we have decided to leave be. Lescott is 31 years of age, and if he is still at this stage of his career motivated by money, then he’s not worth the hassle.
