West Ham are currently in negotiations with Fiorentina left back Marcos Alonso, with the two clubs having agreed on a £1.5m transfer fee.

It is believed the player, who had a successful loan spell at Sunderland last season, is keen to move to Upton Park. However the club are reluctant to pay high wages, believed to be in the region of £40k a week, and are currently trying to negotiate a deal with the players representatives.

Alonso 23, and step brother of Xavi, is a youth academy product of Real Madrid. It is widely believed that a deal will be agreed within the coming days.
