Fenerbahce have reportedly offered West Ham the chance of signing Raul Meireles for £2m, following the clubs pursuit of the former Chelsea playmaker during the January transfer window.
It is believed the only stumbling block is the players wages. Meireles is currently earning £40k a week, and would have to take a pay cut to make the switch to Upton Park.
In other news, Dan Potts, who recently signed a contract extension at the club has stated that he will be doing everything he can to break into the first team this season, and become a regular in the heart of the West Ham defence.
”I definitely take inspiration from those players who have come through the ranks to become established in the first team,”
