It’s the news all fans have been dreading, but let’s be honest, expecting.
Owner David Sullivan has revealed that Andy Carroll has picked up a serious ankle ligament injury and will be operated on in the USA tomorrow. He will not be expected to return to action for at least 4 months.
In a Q&A session with fans on Twitter, Sullivan stated: @jsullivanwhu: VERY BAD NEW REGARDING AC, TORN LIGAMENTS IN ANKLE… OPERATION TOMORROW WITH TOP SURGEON IN USA… WILL BE PLAYING IN 4 MONTHS
This is disastrous news once again in relation to a player that cost the club £15m last summer, and who only managed 16 appearances last season due to injury, netting a total of 3 goals.
