New signing Aaron Cresswell has stated that West Ham should have walked off the Upton Park pitch on Saturday with 3 points in the bag, and that had Mark Noble scored a missed penalty, it would have been a comfortable win.
Cresswell was quick to also point that poor finishing was also once again a factor in Saturdays defeat.
“In the first half we had numerous chances and if Nobes had put in the pen I think it would have been a different story,” said the new left back.
“We have had a good few chances to have secured the game, but we have been hit by a sucker punch in the last minute.
“I think if we had taken a chance when they went down to 10 men, we would have gone on to win the game comfortably, but when it then goes to 10 each, it is a totally different game, it is anyone’s game really. It is a big pitch for 10 v 10 we were the ones who conceded the goal.”
