West Ham new boy Enner Valencia is set to make his first start for the club at Hull City tonight, with manager Sam Allardyce expecting to see the player deliver the kind of performance that persuaded the club to part with £12m for his services.
The irons head to Hull tonight looking to follow up their last impressive away victory at Crystal Palace, and will hope to head back to London with three points in the bag.
Allardyce is backing Valencia to star tonight, and has challenged the striker to show what he can do.
”He’s ready to get the opportunity to go and play. He scored against Bolivia and hopefully he will start scoring for us very shortly,” said Allardyce.
“It will be great once he gets out there and produces what he did at the World Cup. It’s the goal threat we really need more of this season.
“He’s one of our major signings and we hope he is going to be very successful.”
