Following on what was a memorable night under the floodlights on Saturday evening when West Ham triumphed 3-1 over Liverpool, one thing that was clear for all to see was the clear improvement in quality within the West Ham team.
The additions made this summer have taken the club to the next step on the field. We are now playing a level of quality which we have not seen since 2001 when we finished 5th – and there is a sense around the club that it’s only uphill from here.
It was an outstanding performance against Liverpool – a team West Ham rarely manage to topple, but it was done with free flowing, creative football. And with Mancheater United up next it’s hard to see us going there and not believing we can win.
Manchester United were this afternoon beaten 5-3 by Leicester City, and once again their defending was shocking. So I think I speak for all fans when I say – bring them on!
