West Hams current injury crisis has been boosted by the news that Cheikhou Kouyate is expected to return to the squad to face Newcastle United this Saturday, there is however less positive news surrounding the other casualties.
The club are remaining very quiet on the injury front at this moment in time, however it is reported that the injuries sustained by Stewart Downing and Alex Song are worse than first feared.
At this stage the lay off period is expected to be weeks rather than months, this is however not good news considering the matches leading up to Christmas are seen as vital in the clubs quest for a top 10 finish.
There is yet to be any updates on the fitness of Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia at this stage. It is expected the club will give a full update on the injuries in the coming days.
