The club have released new CGI images of our soon-to-be home at the Olympic Stadium, with one showing an internal bar area for corporate boxes, and the other showing the tunnel entrance out onto the pitch.
There has been some serious unrest amongst fans in recent days with the club asking loyal season ticket holders to place down a £75 deposit on next seasons season ticket, or risk losing the seat.
This has been followed by the club also asking fans to place a 25% deposit this summer for our first season at our new stadium in 2016/17.
It’s a strange request considering the move has been continually sold to us fans to achieve ‘affordable family football’.
For me personally this is a tact to bring in some much needed cash earlier than usual, and help balance the books before the move. This theory is also supported following the clubs announcement that the owners have put 10% of the club up for sale.
Whatever the reason though, it hasn’t gone down well, with many loyal fans I know personally now considering whether to continue renewing their season tickets once we move away from Upton Park.
