West Ham 1-0 Sunderland
I, like many, breathed a huge sigh of relief when the full time whistle blew as we returned to winning ways with a nervy victory over relegation threatened Sunderland.
It wasn’t a pretty win, in fact it was far from it. We looked exactly what we were, a team lacking in confidence.
There seemed to be a serious lack of cutting edge, and it looked for me, that if a team was going to sneak victory it would be Sunderland – especially as luck seemed against us, and not to mention another woeful refereeing performance.
But thankfully it went the other way, and Diafra Sakho netted home the winner with 2 minutes of normal time remaining.
That could prove to be a huge goal for both teams. We needed it, big time. The winning feeling is back at last and let’s hope we can now push on for a positive last run of matches this season.
And for Sunderland – well, that goal looks to be another nail in their relegation coffin.
