There have been whispers and rumours for time now that Allardyce is on his way out at the end of the season, and today it has seriously intensified with The Sun writing that Sam is set for a move to the MLS.
Allardyce is under some serious pressure following what has been an awful run of form since the turn of the year, with the club only managing 3 victories in 18 matches in 2015 – a shockingly poor statistic.
It’s something that the board are not taking well, and have been very active in the managerial market – with David Moyes heavily linked.
One man the club are also expecting to make a big move for this summer, if Sam does indeed depart, is Rafa Benitez. However this is looking a tough deal to pull off at this stage.
It remains to be seen whether Sam can convince the board he is worthy of a new deal, with the last 5 games seen as his chance to prove he’s the man for the job.
We shall see.
