Sam set for final game

Sam Allardyce will today take charge of our club for the last time as we take on his former club Newcastle United in what is set to be a nervy day for the home side.

Rumours have been rife much of this season that Sam’s contract will not be renewed, and today it looks a dead cert that the owners will part ways with Sam as they look to move the club on to the next level.

Allardyce has come in for heavy criticism once again this season for negative and predictive tactics. Also his total lack of interest in bonding with the East London faithful appears to be a huge driving force behind his inevitable departure.

The final nail is his West Ham coffin however appears to be the non-existent relationship with David Sullivan, who desperately wanted to make a change last summer.

As it stands Slaven Bilic is odds on favourite to take over once Sam’s departure is confirmed, but there could of course be some twists along the way.

Whatever the outcome of this we must remember what good Sam Allardyce has done for our club too. He has delivered of what has been asked of him, even if it has made tough viewing at times. Allardyce deserves our respect and should this prove to be his last game in charge, he should be given a positive farewell.

Today our club have the chance of sending Newcastle United down to the Championship in what could be memorable end to a season of two halves.

& Thank you Sam Allardyce
