The transfer window is open and that means one thing is for certain, Newcastle are linked to sign our Geordie record signing Andy Carroll.
Noises from our club once again are the same.. ‘He’s going nowhere’, ‘we are not interested in selling’ .. But the reality is, our owners would seriously consider an offer – if the money is right of course.
It’s sad to say it, because I really like Carroll – like most fans do. His attitude and commitment on the pitch gives him the potential to be an Irons hero. But sadly his proneness to pick up long term injuries is denying him that status, and let’s be honest, he’s so far been a waste of money.
I do not see us selling him this summer, I believe he’ll be given a fair crack of the whip. But now a new manager is in place, with ideas that I seriously doubt suits Carrolls style of play – Carroll will have until January to seriously prove he’s worth keeping on. Another injury, or lack of goals would seriously see his West Ham future in doubt.
Andy Carroll is now under pressure to deliver, as the long term injury patience has worn as thin as ever. This is it for him. It’s do or die.
I would love to see him kick start his career this season, and go on to be a leading figure in our quest to reach ‘the next level’, sadly though, I doubt it.
