West Ham are close to completing the permanent signing of Alex Song from Barcelona – with the former Arsenal man set to sign a 4 year deal.
Song, who is currently in London, has been the subject of a permanent deal for some weeks, however it now appears a deal has been reached with the Spanish giants.
We have it on good authority that a deal could be announced as early as tomorrow. However Monday is looking the more likely.
Song started last season as one of the clubs top performers, however tailed off after Christmas. This lead many to believe West Ham would not pursue a long term deal – David Sullivan however made it clear that we were very much interested.
“I can assure you we have not given up on Alex Song yet,” said the Joint-Chairman.
“Before Christmas Alex was outstanding and if we believe we can get him back to that sort of form and maybe with a new manager we can, we would very much like Alex to come.”
Am really pleased we might be getting Alex Song permanently !! There is no question he’s not a class act !! We just need Slaven to give the lad a helping hand, then we could have a Crown jewel at West Ham !! C O Y IRONS! !!!
Definitely. I think Slav will bring the best out in him. More news about to follow..
