Luck to sway our way, surely

This weekend our Champions League chasing Irons come up against an Arsenal side who are looking to gate crash their way back into the title chase, in what is shaping up to be a classic London derby.

We opened our season with a 2-0 win at the Emirates, and that is something Arsenal will be looking to exact revenge on. But with our form at present we have to go into this confident we can take 6 points off the Gunners this season.

The phrase ‘you make your own luck’ certainly hasn’t applied to West Ham this campaign, with horrendous refereeing decisions following us wherever we play putting serious dents in our top 4 aspirations.

There surely has to be a turning point in our fortunes when it comes to key decisions, and this Saturday is one where we will certainly need to avoid any further wrong calls from the men in black.

It’s painful to think of where we would be sitting now if those points weren’t snatched from our hands in these previous months, top 4 could actually be looking a certainty.

But we mustn’t grumble and think ‘what if’ – we still have a big chance, and Saturdays visit of Arsenal presents us an opportunity to show the league we seriously mean business.

The Gunners have a strong record at the Boleyn, and now they’re starting to hit form they will certainly think they have a chance. Having said that, this has to be one game they could do without.

In its final swansong, the Boleyn has once again become a fortress, and here’s hoping our excellent form continues, and we put to bed the faint hope Arsenal still have of lifting the Premier League trophy this season.
